Performance & Change Management Examples

Effective performance isn’t just about skills. It’s about clarity, confidence, and the ability to adapt when expectations shift. In this pillar, I focus on building the tools, guidance, and learning experiences that help people do their best work during moments of change.

My approach blends capability building, behavior-based learning, and strategic enablement to support managers, teams, and individuals as they navigate new roles, new systems, and new ways of working.

The projects below highlight how I partner with organizations to diagnose performance gaps, design targeted interventions, and create scalable resources that drive readiness, alignment, and measurable improvements in how teams operate.

KidStrong: Sales Process Training

& Live Scenario Facilitation/Evaluation

KidStrong is a fast-growing, science-based youth training program that blends physical development with character-building skills for children ages 1–11. When I began working with them, their rapid growth had outpaced the structure of their internal training: they had a sales process, but it lived in scattered documents, tribal knowledge, and informal coaching. Our team was brought in to consolidate their materials, define a clear methodology behind their sales approach, and turn it into a scalable learning experience that any staff member could understand and apply.

I helped transform their broad, inconsistent resources into a cohesive 8-step sales curriculum anchored by the SNAP methodology (Simple, iNvaluable, Aligned, Priority). This included eLearning, videos with KidStrong coaches, job aids, worksheets, and instructor-led modules designed for a busy, on-the-floor staff audience.

Following that success, KidStrong asked me to step into the role of project manager and lead instructional designer for revamping their Amazing Trial Experience (ATE)—the free class offered to prospective members. For the first time, we built a comprehensive, turnkey system for training, practicing, and assessing how staff deliver these trial sessions.

Challenges & Complexities

Fast-Paced, Floor-Based Learning Environment

  • Coaches and staff had limited time for seated, computer-based training
  • Required designing lightweight, immediately usable learning formats
  • Needed to incorporate durable, physical tools (laminated cards, binders, floor-ready job aids)

Limited SME Availability & High Accuracy Requirements

  • SMEs were actively coaching and difficult to schedule
  • Critical content relied on tacit knowledge that had to be extracted, clarified, and standardized
  • Safety, proper athletic form, and child experience required precise, high-fidelity guidance

Transforming Scattered Information Into a Scalable System

  • Sales and ATE content lived across documents, conversations, and informal coaching practices
  • Had to consolidate and streamline processes into cohesive, teachable methodologies
  • Built a complete training framework where none previously existed, ensuring consistency across locations

Outcomes

  • Built eight multimedia-rich courses with eLearning, live training, worksheets, facilitator materials, and job aids

  • Completely overhauled how the Amazing Trial Experience is taught, practiced, and evaluated—creating a unified, turnkey program scalable across all locations

  • Developed independent, end-to-end training materials that removed reliance on a small group of facilitators who previously held the knowledge

  • Strengthened the long-term relationship between our team and KidStrong by delivering high-impact training under tight timelines and budget constraints

  • Positioned KidStrong to train staff more consistently and confidently across their fast-expanding nationwide network

Farmer’s Insurance:

Compliance Script Training & Regulatory Updates

This project sat squarely in the Performance & Change Management space: new regulations and product updates required rapid changes to state-specific training, and frontline teams needed to adapt immediately. After updating Farmers' compliance content, I tackled a deeper performance challenge: customer service reps were struggling to consistently deliver required verbatim language during sensitive payment-authorization calls. To address this, I reframed the training around the why: the legal, financial, and customer-impact consequences of incorrect phrasing, and delivered it through a playful robot persona I voiced, animated, and integrated into an interactive Storyline module.

My Role

  • Updated state-specific eLearning to reflect new product and regulatory requirements
  • Designed a creative compliance training solution using a character-driven “robot” narrator
  • Scripted, recorded, and voice-modulated audio to bring the persona to life
  • Produced a YouTube-style instructional video with humor, tight edits, and references
  • Built interactive Storyline elements to reinforce proper use of verbatim phrasing
  • Taught the rationale (“why it matters”) behind strict script adherence

Challenges

  • Teaching a task based on memorization and habit rather than conceptual skill
  • No single “best” learning method for verbatim recall; we needed to address motivation and understanding
  • Required translating strict compliance language into something approachable and engaging
  • Maintaining tone that was humorous and charming without undermining seriousness

Outcomes

  • Immediate stakeholders praised the creativity and clarity of the approach
  • Early feedback indicated improved accuracy in mandatory phrasing before contract end
  • Provided a replicable model for making compliance training more human and engaging
  • Strengthened alignment between regulatory expectations and frontline behaviors
